Contemplating Marriage

​It used to be that prenuptial agreements were perceived as distasteful, insulting, and used as a tool only by the financially powerful partner to protect his or her interests. Things are different today. Modern couples seek prenuptial agreements to not only protect their respective assets, but also to establish financial commitments during the marriage, and to predetermine financial outcomes in the event of a divorce.

 

Objectively determining what is fair and reasonable when the couple is happily partnered, is, obviously, much easier to accomplish before marriage rather than at the time of an actual divorce.
